Was Sparkle in an excellent mood this morning?

Damn right Sparkle was in an excellent mood this morning. The island seemed to be laying off that whole oppressive pollen crap, and even if it wasn't, there was a trip planned for later in the day that would put some distance between Sparkle and that constant thrum of want. And besides all that, he'd had a great night. How great? Great. Take his word for that one.

Or just guess, based on the fact that he was waking up next to a hot older guy, and instead of immediately losing his shit or something, he was wondering if now was the time he was supposed to head for the kitchen to make coffee.

... It was a good sign that his faculties had returned to him enough that he could remember that the one request going into this had been coffee, really. He was just going to take a few minutes more before getting to that to kind of, like, enjoy this.

Tony ooo-ed and raised his eyebrows at the appropriate time. "Now I feel like my teen years were way more normal hearing that."

"What even is normal for teen years, anyway?" Sparkle smirked a bit into the coffee. Hearing Tony say that was weirdly a point of pride, now. "Like, I'm pretty sure most teenagers are convinced that they're more screwed up than any other teenager out there, so it kind of skews the control group a bit, you know?"

"Okay, that's true." All teens were the most woeful of the woeful. "I am so glad I didn't end up going here. Well. This version of me."

[myownface]

Sparkle laughed, at that.

"Yeah, the version of you that did go here probably wouldn't have spent the night, for a start."

Priorities.

"On the other hand, he was the one who taught me about how important it was to keep a bra on hand, just in case. He seemed to have Fandom handled."

"Don't remind me. I need to work on a new suit in case I have to take care of something during one of those weekends," Tony groaned, rubbing his eyes.

[myownface]

"Leave some wiggle room around the hips and the chest," Sparkle suggested. "... Padding or something adjustable might be your friend, there."

He said this as the clothing store guy, not somebody who knew even the first thing about robotic suits. But it was probably pretty sound advice either way.

"...that's not wrong." IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING.

"I have danced the 'adjusting for tits' dance before," Sparkle replied with a shrug. "I mean, it's been a while since the last time, but I want to think I'm the voice of experience in some way, shape, or form."

... Even if he didn't have much in the way of boobs when the island swapped his gender about. Sigh.

To be honest, neither did Tony. Which was why it wasn't nearly as annoying to deal with the reactor in his/her chest.

"My suits tend to be custom made."

Sparkle snapped his fingers at that.

"Right, right, rich guy," he replied, like this was just occurring to him again. "Well, did you turn into a chick the last time around? You got measurements, right?"

This was important!

"Well, I did have JARVIS take some." This was just going somewhere hilarious. He knew it.

Sparkle... did not quite realize the potential for hilarity, yet. Give him a minute.

"Jarvis?"

Being able to hear the all-caps probably would have tipped him off sooner.

It was a thing about comic books, Sparkle. Get used to it.

"My AI." Slash butler.

[myownface]

Sparkle... burned his tongue on that next mouthful of coffee. Dammit, Tony.

"Of course you have an AI. Why not have an AI?" A pause. "Why do you have an AI?"

"I programmed him in college." IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME. "And now he helps me run things."

SPARKLE COULDN'T EVEN PROGRAM THE TIME ON THE MICROWAVE. IT WAS IN THE KITCHEN STILL BLINKING 12:00 AFTER EVERY TIME THE POWER WENT OUT.

"... I'm going to just out and say that I'm super impressed, again. I mean, I shouldn't be. Atton's from a place where AI are basically as common as human beings. But here I am. Impressed."

Possibly because Tony wasn't from a different galaxy. It was different when you were from Earth, okay?"

IT TOTALLY COUNTED.

"Well, it's part of my job. Stark Industries is all about technology." And he was a nerd for it. A giant nerd.

[myownface]

"Hence the taser," Sparkle replied, nodding a little. "And the lab. I guess I'm still kind of getting my head around what some people around here are capable of. Like, back home we have a rover on Mars and, like, I can have confusing conversations with a smartphone so long as I don't confuse the fuck out of Siri. And here we have, like, billionaires who programmed AI in college, and vampires and demon hunters and psychic space monks and god knows what else."

Sparkle was a fugitive on the run from serving the next twenty to thirty in prison back home for shit like assault and breaking and entering and arson. How the hell was that one of the more normal things anyone here had left behind?

"I'm a little of an outlier in the sense of normal," Tony replied. "And my world also gets way more alien invasions and people with super powers running around."

So. Many. Aliens.

[myownface]

"More people with super powers, like, per capita?"

Did everyone have powers? Because Sparkle was still half convinced he was the only person on the island who wasn't also secretly a superhero.

[imafuturist]

"Mutants, mutates, people with magical powers, metahumans..." Tony shrugged. "World is getting smaller and larger at the same time, it seems."

[myownface]

Sparkle... had no clue what the difference between like three of those things actually was.

"Seeriously starting to think my world is one of the few ones that doesn't have that sort of thing going on. What the hell."

Nitpicking. That was the difference.

"Yeah? It sounds like your world is calm."

[myownface]

Wasn't it always? Throw some Inhumans into the mix and see how confusing things got then!

"Sure," Sparkle snorted. "Calm. I mean, like we don't have superhumans, but that doesn't mean the human race isn't still completely fucked up whenever it gets a chance to be."

It wasn't calm. It was just differently shitty.

"That's expected. It's when aliens show up to destroy us because they think we're too primitive that you realize that it's literally everywhere." And that was sad.
