The Causeway, Sunday Evening

Sparkle bounced on his toes as he waited to meet Hernando on the Causeway for their date. He'd... kind of panicked. Being given a couple of days to come up with something good given the date that Hernando had arranged had left him flailing, and now he was second-guessing basically everything, ever. But it was too late to back out now, even if his choice for the evening was less about art and more about ambiance.

He desperately hoped that the place wouldn't be swamped with kids.

He also hadn't even gotten as far as making dinner reservations.

Tonight was going to be interesting, okay?

Hernando laughed a little, "Sparkle, please. The ground is cold and wet and the concrete railing is undoubtedly the same. Where would I lie you down for that?"

Which made him think about it. He didn't necessarily have to put Sparkle in a prone position to..

There went his hands, moving over Sparkle's back and sliding against the muscles along his spine.

Sparkle met that with a blink. And then an, "Ooo."

And then an "Ooooo."

And then a little grin.

"See, no wet concrete required..."

"Mmmmhm," Hernando purred, "I said I was patient. That does not mean I am not also creative."

[myownface]

"You're welcome to demonstrate your creativity anytime."

Careful, Sparkle. Don't make that sound too much like a dare.

[hernando_fuentes]

"When it comes to helping you relax perhaps I shall," Hernando answered with a note of amusement.

Sparkle needed to relax more, in Hernando's estimation.

He smiled a little, "Did you have a puppet show?"

[myownface]

"Nah, not with an audience," Sparkle replied, shaking his head. "I did make the little ghosts do a dance, though."

... Because if you had a puppet that was a cookie, you made it dance, okay?

As you do, yes.

Hernando laughed softly and placed a firm little kiss on Sparkle's temple. "You," he said decisively, "are a pure delight. I adore everything about you."

Sparkle ducked his head and laughed a little at that.

"That so? Sooner or later I'm gonna remind you that you said that, you know."

[hernando_fuentes]

"If I ever forget then yes, please do remind me," Hernando said seriously.

"I don't expect you to be an angel, Sparkle. Nobody is. I only expect you to be you," he murmured.

[myownface]

"Well," Sparkle said, "that's at least an expectation I can promise I'll always live up to."

For better or worse.

[hernando_fuentes]

"It is the only one you should ever live up to," Hernando answered quietly.

[myownface]

Never stopped a lot of people from having a lot of expectations.

Sparkle smiled lopsidedly at that, and then leaned in to kiss Hernando again.

"I'll try not to disappoint."

[hernando_fuentes]

That's because most people suck.

Hernando leaned right back into that kiss. "I've no complaints so far," he murmured.

"Well, good," Sparkle decided. "If you did, I'd have to pinch you or something."

He smiled, nuzzled against Hernando for another moment more, and then--

"Cab's here," he murmured.

Hernando glanced from the cab to Sparkle. "Have you thoughts about making out in the back of a cab?" he asked quite conversationally.

[myownface]

"I mean, so long as the cabbie doesn't punt us halfway between here and where we're headed..."

Pffft, rules.

[hernando_fuentes]

"I'm sure we shall have more decorum than his usual weekend evening fares," Hernando said loftily.

He wasn't at all certain. Sparkle made him giddy.

Winding an arm around Sparkle's waist, he made for the cab.

[myownface]

Sparkle laughed, leaning against Hernando the entire way, and then leaning forward just long enough to open the taxi door.

"Decorum, yup," he laughed. "That's definitely a word I use in all kinds of sentences referring at least in part to me."

[hernando_fuentes]

"Sparkle, please, you could be perfectly decorous if you wished to. You simply do not wish to," Hernando grinned, "And I would not have you any other way."

He smoothly slid inside.

The cab.

The cabbie would certainly be thankful for that, anyway.

"Well, now I have no reason to ever have decorum ever," Sparkle laughed as he slid into the cab, pausing to tell the cabbie their destination before adding, "I guess that means trouble, huh?"

[hernando_fuentes]

"You did advise me that you were trouble," Hernando pointed out with a smile. He gently bumped Sparkle's shoulder with his to show he was teasing. As if the tone didn't indicate as much.

[myownface]

"Well, I wouldn't want you to be surprised by that one," Sparkle replied, leaning in to bump his shoulder right back, grinning as the cab started on its way. "It's not like it's even a small amount of it."

[hernando_fuentes]

"I heard you managed to find some trouble at a casino in the recent past," Hernando teased him, "Though Kaidan wouldn't couldn't tell me what."

[myownface]

"What happens in the casino," Sparkle quipped, smirking. "We'll have to make our own trouble, I'm afraid."

Sorry, Hernando. You were dating a total shitmagnet.

His best friend was Kaidan. He was used to it.

"I'm not afraid in the slightest," he murmured right back.
